The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions where PaySaxas’ legal entities are located. This role ensures compliance with regulations related to activities of PaySaxas’ legal entities, mitigates legal risks, oversees corporate governance for all PaySaxas’ legal entities and supports business growth by providing strategic legal guidance. The position requires expertise in fintech, payments, crypto and financial regulations, data and privacy protection, cross-border commercial contracts and corporate governance to protect PaySaxas’ interests while enabling operational efficiency and expansion.

  • Responsibilities

    • Oversee all regulatory legal compliance matters, ensuring that PaySaxas adheres to licensing requirements in multiple jurisdictions;

    • Support with addressing requests from regulatory bodies, responding to inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews;

    • Second-eye review of internal policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations;

    • Review User agreement, Privacy policy and other legal documents for which Legal team is responsible with respect to each Paysaxas entity on quarterly basis or in case there changes in the legislation or business need to review the documents earlier to ensure the documents are up-to-date;

    • Monitor regulatory developments in fintech, payments, and financial services within the jurisdictions where Paysaxas has registered business or operates (e.g., has passporting), advising leadership on potential impacts;

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks related to business operations, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance (except for AML risks which are within the responsibility of AML and Compliance team);

    • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including partnership agreements, intercompany agreements and vendor contracts;

    • Provide legal guidance on market expansion, new product launches, and partnership models;

    • Advise on intellectual property protection, technology-related legal matters, and data privacy requirements;

    • Manage relationships with external legal counsels, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support;

    • Collaborate with AML and Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Risk teams to ensure seamless integration of legal requirements into business processes.
